UAE construction sites are regulated by OSHAD (Abu Dhabi) and Dubai Municipality, both of which require a minimum PPE standard for all workers on active sites. What Fall Arrest Equipment Is Required for High-Rise Construction in UAE?
For work at height above 2m without collective edge protection, UAE regulations require a full-body harness with an energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline connected to a certified anchorage point. Full-body harnesses must be EN 361 certified. Energy-absorbing lanyards to EN 355. Self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) to EN 360. Annual inspection by a competent person is required, with immediate retirement of any harness or lanyard that has arrested a fall — even if visually undamaged, the energy-absorbing components are no longer reliable.

For extended high-dust work, a half-face respirator with P3 particulate filter provides better protection and comfort than disposable masks. What safety helmet colours are used on UAE construction sites?
UAE construction sites typically use colour-coded helmets: white for managers and supervisors, yellow for general workers, blue for contractors and subcontractors, orange for banksmen and traffic marshals, and red for safety officers.
